Issue with changing storage dimension group for items

Hello everyone

I am trying to change storage dimension group for items to activate warehouse management for these items, I added the items in the form "Change storage dimension group for items" and added all the necessary fields (new Storage dimension group, Reservation hierarchy and Unit sequence group ID) then process changes and a batch job has been created for these items ( I started with 95 items only)
I got an error with the job
and this is the message details

after reviewing the items, only 53 items were updated successfully, 7 items blocked for inventory updates and cannot be cleaned up and the rest 35 items did not update

our issue is with these 7 items because right now I can not process them to change storage because in the released product form, it is already updated with the new storage

I tried to check the on-hand inventory and it seems that the quantity did not update with inventory status which made all the quantities not available?

sorry if my English is not clear but I am trying to figure out what is the issue and how can we fix it?

Note: this is UAT environment and we are trying to implement warehouse management.
I have the same question (0)

    Hi AbdulAziz,

Is the application version of your UAT the same as the production environment?

    Hi Andre,
This task was completed by the system administrator. As far as I know, there’s no customization applied to this table, but I’ll confirm with our developer to be sure.

We’ve refreshed the database from Production to UAT. Interestingly, the same items didn’t trigger the previous error, although a different one appeared for different items.

Upon reviewing the items, I noticed that the storage dimensions have changed. However, they still fail to process correctly when using the app—an error message is displayed.

At this point, I’m not certain what’s causing the issue or if this might occur again when following the same steps in the Production environment.

Are there any specific notes or best practices I should keep in mind to ensure items can be successfully transferred and used with WMS?

    Thanks!

    Hi Abdulaziz,

Can you tell us if this task was done using system administrator rights or using an user with a business security role? Do you have customizations on the InventDim table (e.g. a new index)? Or is there a security policy (XDS) in place that restricts particular records in the Inventory Dumension (InventDim) table?

    Good day to you.

No, I did not. I thought once I ran the job, automatically all the existing on-hand would change to the status Available.

The items that have been successful—their on-hand inventory status changed.

Is there a job I should have run first or a process to do first?

    Good day,

Did you assign the excisting on-hand inventory to the inventory status "Available"?

    Best regards,
    Laurens van der Tang
