Import-NAVData cmdlet issue NAV 2013 R2 build 37563

Hi,

NAV 2013 R2 build 37563

We have export one company B from one database using Export-NAVData with parameter IncludeGlobalData and IncludeApplicationData.
then we import this company B in another database having company A using Import-NAVData with parameter IncludeGlobalData and IncludeApplicationData.

In NAV, we have property data per company set to NO for tables User, Permission and Permission Set.
So how it will handle data for both companies. In our case, it keep data for only company B and delete the data from company A.
I think it should keep data for both companies A and B.

Can anyone have any suggestion on this?

    Hi,

i have tested both the scenarios 3 tables.

    1. Without IncludeGlobalData
      1. User Table - No Change.
      2. Permission Table - Replaced with source database data in destination database.
      3. Permission Set Table - Replaced with source database data in destination database.
    2. With IncludeGlobalData
      1. User Table - Replaced with source database data in destination database.
      2. Permission Table - Replaced with source database data in destination database.

      3. Permission Set Table - Replaced with source database data in destination database.

So, outcome so far is we have to handle Users, Permissions and Permission Sets in destination database already exists companies, because it will replaced with new imported company data.

    Hi Suresh,

It should be not like that. And it is not written anywhere in Microsoft Document.

    Jatin,

Since they are shared among companies i think when you export the data with GlobalData and ApplicationData set to true it will replace the data, i don't think there is an option to merge the data.

    Hi Mahesh,

I know that User, Permission and Permission Set are shared among the Companies. But my question is that why it will not merge records while importing company.

    Hi,

Permission, User and Permission Set are shared among the Companies.  But in the Access Control table, you have a field for storing the Company Name.
